I ordered a book on the 30th of September 2024 for £14.09 and it never arrived. I emailed customer support twice and have had no response. Would not recommend this company at all.

Ordered an expensive new book. The book was wrecked by them before dispatch. Their speciality is books but couldn’t pack a book without ruining it. The gluey sticky flap of the cardboard envelope was tucked into the envelope and adhered to the front cover of the book, instead of being stuck to the outside of the envelope. Their staff need a video on how to put a book into an envelope intact. Not nuclear physics. Worst state of goods ever received. Asked for a replacement. Got a refund. Lied about replacement policy – 2 different versions from 2 different staff. I believe that this was such severe negligence that I should have received a special courtesy replacement, no questions. Giving me a refund wasn’t a nice gesture either, it was a strategy to avoid giving me two books for the price of one. I’ll never buy any books from them again.

Having ordered over £100 tarot cards for a birthday present I still haven’t received my order! The birthday has long gone and my niece hasn’t received anything from me. They emailed stating that they had been dispatched. The tracking didn’t track. Received another email this morning stating that they are awaiting for the courier to collect. Still not tracking! This company is a total joke! I don’t believe they even have my order fulfilled. Told me I had to wait until the 28th before they will consider doing anything about it. I won’t be purchasing from here ever again. I’ll take my custom else where! Plea avid and save yourself a major headache!

Quite simply the best online books supply company there is, in my considered opinion. Huge unbeatable, unparalleled range of fascinating and unusual titles available here. Books of the types I'd wanted to source for many years. I'd thought as we're mostly US titles I'd likely not get, are amazingly largely still available here. I'm hugely impressed and very excited about my orders put in. As my titles are largely very specialist interests subjects requests indeed honestly.

I always order books form Book Depository and I have always got everything delivered with no issues. Last order was a manga for my son, Death Note, black edition, volume 2, which is quite hard to find. Though I had to wait a bit longer than initially expected, I have got it today. It came all the way from Australia so I guess the three weeks wait makes sense. My son is over the moon and I am a very happy costumer.

Ordered and paid for a book and after a long time I have not received it although it has been published some weeks ago.

Ordered three books a week ago. Only one has arrived. No updates about what is happening with the other two. All the status page says is 'processing'.
Take your money for items they do not have in stock and don't have the honesty to admit it!
Have requested a refund for the two remaining.
Dreadful company.
Buy elsewhere.
Companies like this do not deserve anybody's custom!

Repeatedly cancelling my pre ordered books. Offering no assistance in re ordering them, had to order them for a higher price then my original pre order price.
Really bad customer service, not helpful at all. Use someone else.

Took a week from order to dispatch then told it would take another 2 weeks or more to arrive (from within the uk). Truly terrible service. Won’t be using again. Ordered same book from Amazon last night & it arrived within 24hrs. Confused how the service standards be so bad when it’s owned by Amazon???

I had several times bought books from The Book Depository and received them in Denmark.
I do not complain about the shipping time, track and trace. I am patient and happy with the service.

However, I am really annoyed recently.
The postman at the door asked for the import tax on books from the UK.
Who will pay 107 DKK tax on 78 DKK book?
107 DKK on each book (for three books).

Delivery times are a joke. I placed an order of 3 books, 2 of which stated ready to dispatch with 1 working day & the other 1 within 2-3 days. 6 days later & they are still showing as 'processing' in my orders. Customer service emailed back saying 1 of the books will be posted 10 days after purchase, & the other 2 they have no idea when they will arrive as their finding it hard to find a supplier. In this day & age they really need to sort out their delivery times, & make sure they have supplies of the books they are advertising. Nobody should have to wait this long for a couple of books.

I pre ordered a manga book from book depository, unfortunately after nearly waiting a month, the order could not be fulfilled and was therefore cancelled and am receiving a refund. Its a shame. Service was none the less perfect, I send numerous emails to them and they always replied kindly. I dont think it is their fault so I dobt see any problem with them. I bought other books from them and they always arrived in time and good condition. Good doing business with them and prices are good too.

I ordered some Med boom- Which is included with Online practice access. The sticker inside the book was already scratch and registered!!!!! I was very disappointed! 95-% why I chose that book because Online practice as well.. after you see cant registered cuz Already gone. Thats non sense!!!!! it was a 100€ book kind of... Never buy anything from that store!!!!!!

Awful-avoid
I was looking for a book that was confirmed to be in stock and Book Depository stated that it was in stock and would be ‘ dispatched from the UK in 2 business days’. My order was placed on March 4 and according to their delivery info should have been delivered within 3-5 days; I received no email confirmation and despite emailing the company numerous times still don’t have a date for delivery. When they did eventually reply they simply referred me to their delivery info and had also very disingenuously edited out the ‘dispatched from UK in 2 days’ from my purchase confirmation. Avoid- even if they seem cheaper it simply isn't worth the hassle. Would be no stars if I could have done review without.

Still awaiting some of my order but had this book arrive with a perfect t rip down the seem of the cover. Really disappointing going to try to post somewhere so I can give an example of the damage. Couldn’t have been the courier as the order arrived perfectly wrapped and packaged.

I HAVE BEEN ORDERING FOR YEARS WITH NO ISSUES TO AUSTRALIA...MOVED TO BRASIL TO RIO IN 2019 AND HAVE NOT RECIEVED ONE BOOK I ORDERED SINCE MAY 2020. ITS BEEN 8 MONTHS IM STILL WAITING...CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID WE SENT IT JUNE 2020...MMMM WELL ITS 2021 NO BOOK AND NO REFUND....FKN JOKE....

Pretty good service - great prices but took a while to deliver. It was COVID season but still it took a few weeks. Anyhow they did deliver (I ordered two sets of books a week and a half apart and they both arrived at the same time...)...they did have the best prices, if you use the I would say get ready to order in advance 3-4 weeks.

Appalling customer services unable to talk to anyone cannot get a straight answer to a straight question via email. False advertising saying they have stock when they do not. Trying to get a refund is a nightmare. NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!,
