Had brilliant service from Britannia on Sunday. Coil spring failed and shredded tyre. Britannia quickly arranged efficient garage callout (with a backup) and checked by phone every 15 mins to see what position was. Really impressed.

My VW Passat has gone into a deadlock mode. I explained on the phone to the advisor that the emergency key would not open the door, that I had replaced the battery in the key fob and that the vehicle was impossible to enter, try as I might. I was advised that if I pay £99 a garage would visit and recover the car. Great, I paid because I need to get into my car. When the lovely recovery man arrived, he asked all the same questions about the key, battery replacement etc. to which I gave exactly the same answers as on the phone. He then said, 'It is probably deadlocked and so, in that case, they should not have told you we could recover your car and they should not have sent me.' He even told me that I could quote him when I call to complain. Of course, Brittania say they cannot refund me because the recovery team were sent. For what it was worth, they could have sent a team of violin-playing penguins and it would have been about as helpful. If they knew the issue could not be addressed, why take the money anyway? Appalling.

before my phone battery dies I have to write this review. Absolutely terrible, worst breakdown cover ever on hold for over a hour just to have the phone put down, I've had to call back and still on hold. I feel like I've been scamed

Honestly the worst experience and customer service I’ve ever had with a company like this. So unhelpful, that’s IF you can speak to someone. Over an hour on hold for “emergency assistance” tonight and no answer. Same in the past, long hold times and then the phone line cuts out. One time they forgot to pass on my details to a mechanic so I was waiting hours. Told lots of conflicting information by different employees. Avoid at all costs.

I was very happy with the service. But I do need to make a claim for my taxi and something else I need reimbursed. But there is no easy address to do this. But the people I interacted with were very helpful.

Quick and easy to reserve breakdown cover. Seems like good value for standalone breakdown cover. However, haven't had to use the service yet.

Have been a member for several years and been happy with service. The phone operators had some knowledge and could assess situation. But.....was recently told to go to a local garage and 'save us a call out'.Complained ,and got patronising emails days later offering to get rescue service out.
This would have been over a week from the original call. So ,after several years, going to cancel membership.Need a reliable,honest breakdown service.

i can only comment on buying the cover and the website. It was very straight forward and easy to use.Hopefully if i have a problem the service will be the same!

Very quick to get through and very helpful lady (in Wales) to go through the pricess, as website didn't want to process any of my debit/credit cards. So hence the one star knocked off

Originally told 2 hours until someone will come, rung at 3 hours, on hold 30 mins, was told someone will call back, no one did, rung at 4.5 hours then told no one is coming an to try the AA an will reimburse us. Tried everywhere no luck, was stranded with no lights on a un lit motorway, was stressful and dangerous. Do not recommend this company.

Reasonably good service for the money although not had to call out for breakdown yet so time will tell.

The whole process was easy and seamless to purchase the breakdown cover.

I have been with this breakdown cover for years, excellent service would recommend these to anyone. When I have called on them , great service , excellent staff.

We were left ‘abandoned’ in Scarborough by Volvo Assistance after they recovered our car. We are also in Britannia Rescue who immediately (even though they had not recovered our vehicle) arranged for supply of a hire car to get myself, my wife, our elderly dog and a great deal of luggage the 100 mile journey home.
