Would give zero stars if possible

I have rarely experienced service as poor as what I received from MWEB and Vumatel.

After placing my fibre order with MWEB, I waited weeks without any communication. I eventually had to phone them myself multiple times, each time waiting 40 to 50 minutes to get through to their call centre. The consultants were either unwilling or unable to assist and simply blamed Vumatel, even though customers cannot contact Vumatel directly.

After several follow-ups, MWEB finally called to schedule an installation. Vumatel then failed to arrive for the appointment and provided no notice or explanation. I had to spend another 40 minutes on hold just to find out why they had not shown up, and MWEB could not provide any reason or timeframe.

A second appointment was arranged. I specifically requested a 12:00 appointment, and although this was never confirmed, I later received an email scheduling the installation for 14:00 instead. Despite not agreeing to that time, I accepted it because I was desperate to get connected.

The technicians eventually arrived almost an hour late. During the installation they:

Spilled glue on my furniture and floor;
Left dust and debris from drilling;
Did not clean up after themselves;
Left the fibre box hanging loosely by the cable, creating an obvious risk of damage.

To make matters worse, the internet still does not work.

The technicians were unable to explain why the service was not functioning, could not say when it would be fixed, and did not provide the Wi-Fi password.

I then contacted MWEB technical support and spent two hours on hold, only for the call to be disconnected.

This is, without question, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The installation was unprofessional, communication was virtually non-existent, and the support process has been extremely frustrating.

I would strongly caution anyone considering MWEB and Vumatel to think twice before signing up.

I honestly do not recommend using Vuma Itel’s network. Their service has been very disappointing. The WiFi can stop working for days or even weeks, and when you try to contact customer support regarding the issue, you receive little to no assistance.
I have reported network problems multiple times and still did not get proper help or feedback. What makes it worse is that customers are expected to pay the full monthly amount even though the WiFi is not working for the full 30 days.
Very poor service and unreliable network support.

Terrible customer service

The customer service at Vumatel is terrible, when it came to getting the wifi installed they were here quicker than the speed of light, I now have an issue where the router isn't working, mind you it's new, and I made them aware I work from home and it's urgent, but still no one has come through and they don't even answer calls. Just terrible for the price they are charging.

They advised that the the issue had been logged as urgent and said they would be at the property early to fix, it is already 1:30pm and no one is here yet

Most discussing service!!

Yet another day gone by and both Vumatel and Vox were unable to get me connected- 6 days later. I have spent lots of money on data and a back up wifi so that Vumatel can get me connected but guess what like every other review its been a week and all words no action. Everyday I am being promised my line to be activated not because I hadn't paid, its because of the "migration". Now I have to suffer the fact that I was unfairly disconnected with no notice, had to go through 2 long weekends without coverage and I get told I need to wait a little more. I don't even have the patience anymore. Everyday my query is moved to a different department with no resolution but "Apologies for the inconvenience" are they really??? Because excellent service is helping your clients not making them beg to be connected. I am absolutely disgusted with Vumatel, its my first time and I am already frustrated with the sloppy service. Till now no one has even contacted us , we hear one thing from Vox and then the opposite from Vumatel...Attached is an example of what incompetent people look like. If you are looking for a secure service provider, please do not approach Vumatel, honestly I should have taken my own advice and read peoples experiences first, because this is just ridiculous!!! To top it all i was given 2 timeslots that technicians will arrive at my home and no body showed up. This is now taking my work time and my personal time. Last night I was sent a 3rd time slot, tell me this is their version of escalated to string people along??? This is a scam!!!
Now I need to be available at 11 as well for the ghost technician to arrive. I am sick and tired of this crap.

The experience completely exceeded my expectations. It was quick, simple and professional. Everything was done within a few hours of application. Within minutes of applying online a received a call confirming a team was on the way. And within an hour a team was at my house and installation was done. The whole process was so fast and easy, I am so impressed.

Nomzamo Mbanjwa - You are amazing!!

For anyone needing WI-FI, from start to finish including your service provider - contact Nomzamo Mbanjwa! I have never in my life delt with such an amazing individual - coming from the sales and business solutions background, I have never received such amazing and fast service from ANYONE. Nomzamo sent me my service provider options to which I selected my choice. Nomzamo had Vuma install, my service provider activate my line, and my router delivered within 2 business days. She assisted me on the Friday, and I was up and running by the Monday afternoon. Thank you so much Nomzamo, Vumatel are very lucky to have you part of their team. If I could have given you a 10-star rating, I would have.

I paid for for WiFi a week ago and have router installed but the router is not activated no one has even tried contact us or even come out to property to have router activated it's so simple to get this sorted how it's still not done vumatel service team is absolutely useless and incompetent of doing the jobs absolutely pathetic

Absolutely shocking. They dig up the entire neighbourhood yet the connection remains poor quality. I am seriously thinking of going 5g router and cancel my subscription.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS SERVICE VUMATEL

It's no surprise to see that Vumatel has a 1.5 review rating on Trustpilot. That shows what a terrible internet service provider they really are. Terrible customer service agents. Horrible business practices. Terrible company as a whole.

lost connection

My connection has been lost for almost a week. Technicians rocked up at my premises yesterday while I was at work. Brilliant!!!! No phone call or no call made to my alternative contact number. Nice!!! I am up to wits end with VUMA! I do online studies and need my connection sorted ASAP.

Vumatel hypa

To this day i stand by my first review vuma is still the worst Fibre to have, they never communicate professionally with customers and they never resolve technical issues in time it's been 2 days again with the same internet outage.

No reimbur*****t to customers or alternative ways to resolve this matter or a solution to this problem.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Vuma has been extremely reliable. Since installation 6 years ago , the connection has been stable with no issues and no need to contact support. Internet only goes down when there’s no power, never because of the fibre. Highly dependable service.

Fibre cable to be connected to split box a 5 min job. I is taking Vumatel 8 days to do this. Guys think twice these guys technical team are substandard and your complaints are not handled. Oh and if it stated here they answer you direct do not believe that they don't.
All vumatel clients change to.openserve
Rather find another Fibre option

Poor Service, no feedback ,no SLA

I logged a call with an agent on moving home and instructed the agent that my service must be terminated at my old address on the 1st January and enabled at my new address on the first January 2026.
I have been following up daily since the past 7 days for update on the moving home installation and no feedback, on the 31th at midnight the old address got disconnected for wifi, today is the 2 Jan no update on the installation at new apartment and tried requesting feedback, no update awaiting feedback.

Can anyone advise a better service provider quick turn around time as this one is crappy!!!

Reported a problem on the 26th of…

Reported a problem on the 26th of December, didn't receive any communication until 2 days later. The internet was then active for a couple of hours only to fail again. Then it was classified as an area outage, phoned them again to be told it was resolved but still no connectivity. Customer service is atrocious on their end. Do not select them as an option, worst experience ever!
