Good Soap and Customer Support
Everything they sell is pretty pricey compared to products sold in where I live, but the only thing I love is their soap. Their soap is very powerful, cleans my hand very easily with half pump amount, which made me continue buying Public Goods' soap. Their customer support is very good and quick, resolves my problems every time.

Unauthorized Reoccurring Charges
I canceled my membership February 2024 and received confirmation of cancellation. However, I was still charged for annual membership in July 2024 and July 2025. I didn't catch the July 2024 charge (i don't think they sent email confirmation of the charge, so it was easy to miss), but thankfully caught the July 2025 charge. When I contacted them, they said I was charged by mistake when they transitioned to a new system. They refunded July 2025, but conveniently omitted a response to the July 2024 charge. When was this system update? I'm having a hard time believing their explanation. I think they are taking advantage of people. I see that there are a lot of situations similar to mine on Reddit, Trust Pilot, and BBB.

Replacement Part that Broke
I liked the promptness of our communication but I had to correct the product she sent as a replacement as she was sending a lotion pump not a kitchen dish soap metal pump which I stated that needed to be replaced in my first email to her. I did attach a picture for her reference to help guide to the right replacement product. Thank you.

Shady returns process
Their returns process is unlike anything I’ve experienced. In order to request a refund, I had to first send them pictures of the items I wanted to return. And then I was told that I would have to watch for the return item to be delivered to them and then notify them in order to receive my refund. What the heck?? So if a customer doesn’t track their return to you and tell you it was delivered to you, you’ll just receive the returned item but not refund the customer?! So slimy.
Yet their website makes it out like the returns process is so easy. No mention of all the hurdles you have to jump through. It says, “we’re happy to refund it or provide a replacement within 30 days of the delivery date. For returns, a prepaid return label will be provided, and your refund will be issued as a credit via your original payment method once the product is received.”
This was my first purchase with public goods. I ordered 3 items and only returned 1. I will never order from them again.

I received a broken jar of salsa in my shipment. Public Goods responded to me immediately and after requesting photos of the damage they refunded my money. I could not have asked for better customer service.
Paid membership scam
Purchased something in 2022 for $13.00. Ended up getting auto enrolled in some paid "membership" scam that I most definitely would NEVER have opted into and they charged me $79.00 annually in 2024 and 2025. I didn't notice the charge last year but caught it this year. They are refunding the $79.00 for this year, but I now have paid $92.00 for a $13.00 item. Total scam.
Auto Renewal of Membership
I have no qualms about the quality of their products nor their customer service. However, after cancelling my account/membership and receiving an email confirming my cancellation and membership fee refund two years ago, they have auto renewed my membership each year after. I'm not pleased.

I reached out with an urgent request for help on my order that never arrived (because I have guest coming and needed these refills) and Dhee responded in the same day to look into what happened and order it again for me. She or He was clear and kind, and I couldn’t ask for anything else.
My only hope now is that the order was sent with expedited shipping! Considering it was not my fault the order didn’t even make it into my state.
