It was simple and easy to follow.
It was simple and easy to follow. It gives the basic knowledge of herbs and really focuses on the L.E.A.F method of assessment, which is quite beneficial for practice. I love learning about different healing modalities, whether herbal or physical. I would need more specific education focusing only on herbs to actually practice with real clients.

Farce…
As an Exercise Physiologist and Anatomy and Physiology Professor, I took this for fun. I was very disappointed in the curriculum and testing procedures. There is nowhere that it teaches anyone how to understand lab work biomarkers. It tells you the answers during the certification exam, and even if it didn't.. The answers are telegraphed.
Apparently, you are also only capable of doing this if you're a woman... Over 40 as the curriculum states. I Personally wouldn't go to anyone with this certification and I'm not sure anyone should. Especially since most of the curriculum was about money and what to charge.
Oh, I passed, with honors.. What a surprise...

Based on the professional background you described as an Exercise Physiologist and Anatomy & Physiology Professor, you were operating significantly above the intended academic entry point of the Foundation curriculum from the start.
Every student enters at a different level. Not everyone has had the same educational opportunities, formal academic background, or ability to spend years in higher education environments. One of the primary purposes of our Foundation pathways is to make entry into the field more accessible for everyday people who are just beginning their journey and would otherwise never have access to structured education in these subjects.
Foundation programs exist to build accessibility and competency for newcomers, while our higher-level Diploma, Master Practitioner, and Fellow pathways are designed for substantially more advanced clinical, assessment, and practitioner development work.
Quite simply, you would have been far better suited for one of our Master or Fellow-level programs rather than an introductory Foundation pathway.
Expecting a beginner foundation curriculum to match the depth of advanced postgraduate-level professional education would naturally create a disconnect in expectations. The Foundation pathways are intentionally structured to simplify concepts, support non-clinical learners, and provide an accessible entry point into the field.
Regarding your comment about women over 40: some marketing references reflect the demographic most commonly represented within specific wellness career-transition cohorts. Enrollment itself is open globally to students of all ages, professions, and backgrounds.

No herbal knowledge offered
Using L.E.A.F.S. , I can now get a better idea of what client's need. But...this gave no herbal information, no learning about what herbs do what, it only offered a method to be able to talk to clients and determined their chief complaints.

The foundation course is built around the L.E.A.F.S. framework intentionally — client assessment, intake, and identifying chief complaints is the clinical structure everything else hangs on. But you're right that it doesn't teach you which herbs address which conditions. That herb-specific knowledge — what does what, dosages, interactions, synergies — comes in the full certification programs. Think of this as learning how to listen to and evaluate a client before learning what to recommend. If you're ready for the herbal depth, that's exactly what the next level delivers.
