I've been using Superstar Components for over 10yrs now after a glowing review of their pedals in Which MTB Mag (no longer sold unfortunately) Since then, for various MTB's and E-MTB's I have used their Nano Pedals and find them the best value for money pedals around. Really easy to service and their customer service/delivery I've always found to be prompt and efficient
Quality control seems very poor
Quality control seems very poor.
I bought 7 items from them and 4 of them arrived with imperfections or damage. This was after delay in their delivery service. It's a shame really as some of their stuff is nice and supporting UK made goods is something I want to do but this is the 2nd time I have had issues buying from this company. I guess when all else fails there's always Hope.

No communication, weeks for refund, emails ignored
Spent hundreds with Superstar over the past 10+ years building bikes. Thought I'd order a seat clamp in November from them, unfortunately was a lot slimmer than the one it was replacing so left some raw carbon (clamp cut away by manufacturer on GT fury) and didn't look good. Sent back for refund in packaging unused, arrived 4th Dec with them. Chased a few times for a refund in December, told busy etc, fine I thought a couple weeks ok. Now midway through January, emails ignored, sent some facebook messages and promised it'd be sorted over a week ago, hasn't been so had to go back via paypal.
Obviously hasn't any interest in selling parts like they used to, from my first port of call for all things MTB, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone anymore sadly

I ordered a set of Jockey Wheels. They eventually arrived but they sent the wrong ones.
Tried to contact customer support but took and age to respond before finally saying send them back.
I returned them completing the returns form and asking for an exchange to the ones I actually ordered. I also sent them the receipt for the £4.50 postage costs as it was their mistake.
They have received the item back (I have proof of delivery) but are ignoring any emails or FB messages from me. They haven’t sent me the replacements and are not responding to the request for postage refund, despite being liable, as it was their error.
Completely unprofessional and also contradictory to the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
I am now going to report them to trading standards as I fear I will never see the items, nor my money again.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!
Wanted to buy jockey wheels
Wanted to buy jockey wheels, only payment option I could see was PayPal, which I don't have. Tried messaging customer service , no reply.
I'll just buy elsewhere & not use Superstar Components in the future I guess.
Great value and long lasting
Bought a number of parts over the last 10 or so years including brake pads, rotors, V3 Hub/DHX rim and more recently V6 Hubs which have been great. No noticeable difference to other UK made hubs well known in the industry and no issues after 3 years having been used in wet/dry across UK.
Quality control needs improvement
Purchased various parts from Superstar with no issues but have been disappointed by the most recent purchase of 2 the garmin stem mounts. The screws in which hold the plastic insert in place were overtightened and rounded off which rended 1 completely useless as I need to alter the orientation for a Wahoo, I was unable to salvage 1 of the mounts. Reading other reviews on Trustpilot made me reluctant to contact Superstar for replacements as its easy to just plead ignorance and blame me for the rounded off hex screws. I did not notice the issue until removing the mounts from the packaging over 2 months of purchasing as they were not required at the time of purchase.

My concern is the lack of interest shown by David when my hub on a wheel 3 years old but relatively low use catastrophically failed ,fortunately I was not riding or an accident would have occurred.The hub failed ripping out 8 spokes while pumping up the tyre.I thought other users should be warned or at least superstar would have wanted to inspect the wheel.

Customer service is a big let down, took serveral emails before 'David' actually read the email properly, refused to ring me so I could explain issue.
I gave up with 'David' and took the bike to local shop who sorted out the issue.
Buyer beware if there is a problem, unlikely the parts are made in UK as they quite 16 to 18 weeks for a font chainring

Ordered a hand-built set of wheels, ally rims & fuel hubs. Delivery was swift considering it’s not straight off the shelf, looks good quality on first look and fitted as should. All in all would say great value & seamless transaction, communication was good. Not my first item from superstars and so far have not been disappointed with anything. 5 stars.
Can’t fault the service
I checked these reviews after my purchase and thought I’d wasted my time/money, but now it’s arrived I can’t fault the service! Great communication, free postage, great prices, tool seems good quality, and arrived within 2 days! Admittedly this was just for a single cheap tool, nothing expensive.
Good stuff, just a little slow
Service was a little slow compared to other companies I've used but my bits did turn up and the right order thankfully.
I ordered some 9 and 10mm thru axles on the Wednesday 2 days before the bank holiday weekend hoping that they would be dispatched before the weekend, didnt hear anything other than my order confirmation until the following Tuesday, delivery then also took nearly a week (I understand that bit is out of their control)
Comparing this to an order I made with another retailer literally minutes earlier, which was dispatched about an hour after I ordered and the bits turned up the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend.
Overall I would order from them again as they stock some nice stuff that you cant get anywhere else and at pretty good prices, I've just lowered my expectations of how fast they might turn up.

I bought an oval chainring for a new XTR chainset and at first I was sent the XT/SLX one, which has the wrong offset.. on contacting customer services they said I had to re-order and pay again?! Then return the item!

I did this reluctantly, they initially sent the wrong tooth ring in the correct size..
Then after contacting them again.. sent the correct size and said to keep the other.
Then literally after one training ride on canal trails.. three of the four chainring bolts supplied stripped and suffered catastrophic failure!
Luckily I wasn’t injured but after contacting them twice and promises of replacement bolts.. nothing arrived.
In 30yrs of mtb riding and racing I have never know alloy chainring bolts fail..
On closer inspection the bolts are slightly too short for the intended fitment!!
So I’ll have to pay to have the chainring milled.. to be able to use it!! And buy a proper set of bolts!! ..great! :/
David at Customer Service does not care…
David at Customer Service does not care about customers.
He seems to think it is okay to send out defective parts then take an age to respond.
Not happy with David and feel he needs to be re-inducted / trained.
Won't be using superstar components again, they are not the company they used to be!
I have had 3 sets of wheels
I have had 3 sets of wheels, 2 sets of road, the other MTB wheels set witch is on its 3 year of trails. chainrings, pedals a few other bits an peaces. I am happy with what i have bought, its good to support a British company
I placed an order for a couple of chain…
I placed an order for a couple of chain rings, I am outside of the UK, so their website didn't add VAT, but I didn't realise that PayPal had until after the purchase had gone through.
No problem I thought, I just drop them a quick email asking if they could refund the £11 discrepancy between the order and the actual payment.
Next morning they cancelled the order and issued a full PayPal refund - no comment or communication.
Reminded me that they had never bothered to answer any of my queries on their headsets.
I won't waste my time again - I will just add the chain ring to my Bikester order.
I will advise the bike forum to check out trust pilot before ordering from this company also - this is a dismal reputation!
