Just got out of hospital and desperate for a delivery. I had sufficient money in my account but Ocado added some on so cancelled my order when there were insufficient funds. What a dreadful company so different to the excellent service you get from Waitrose
Marks and Spencer be careful relying on such an atrocious company doing your delivery’s for you.

I used to love Ocado. I’ve been a customer for over 4 years and would tell everyone how great it was. It used to have such a great reputation.
It used to be “Ooo, Ocado!” Now, when I tell people I use Ocado, I get comments like, “Why do you inconvenience yourself with all that?” yes that was a real comment from a conversation last week and honestly, they’re not wrong!
That’s what I find so disappointing. I’m not someone who has always disliked Ocado quite the opposite, I love they still use bags, the fact they stock M&S and good Italian food. I used to genuinely recommend it to people. But recently, I honestly don’t know what’s happened. There are now so many little problems and changes that using Ocado has become more of an inconvenience than a premium service, that is £8.99 a month may I add...
There is NEVER any frozen food in stock.
The checkout process has become so long to get through cluttered with suggestions, offers and promotions that you don’t want. You have to keep clicking through them just to actually complete your order, (when I actually goes through, usually you are back repeating the process as there is an issue. And to add 1 singular item you have to click though a catalog of stuff you don't want. Sometimes I can't be bothered to add something in forgot. All the inconvenience in the hope that you’ll spend even more money with them, despite already doing a £180 weekly shop.
Speaking of editing orders, They’ve also changed the grocery cut-off to 9pm. Also you can only reserve a slot for such a short amount of time which has has made ordering feel unnecessarily difficult and rushed.
I have been paying £8.99 a month for Smart Pass and it feels like an absolute waste of money. Two of my accounts are now showing as “no longer active”, meaning I can’t log into them, not active for me to use but ocado can still take money... For the Smart Pass.
Customer service is now slow and they seem to think, “Oh yeah the account isn’t working. We don’t know why, sometimes that happens. we can’t refund you, but we can cancel it now. ” That doesn’t actually solve the problem when I’ve been paying £8.99 a month for a service I can no longer access, more than once too.
If you book a late delivery slot, don't bother drivers will call asking if they can drop the groceries off early, most are lovely but the younger ones (usually) don’t want to wait around. I then feel bad saying no because obviously I don’t want a driver waiting around for me. But my question for Ocado why advertise and allow people to book late delivery slots if the drivers are going to call asking customers to have their shopping delivered early?
If I book a late slot, it’s because I need a late slot. If I could have it earlier, I would have booked an earlier slot. I shouldn’t feel like I’m inconveniencing the driver by using the delivery slot I actually booked.
And most of all, the issue with orders actually going through.
The amount of times I’ve ordered recently and the order has been cancelled due to “no payment”, despite the fact there is money in the bank, is ridiculous.
I’ve checked out, gone through the whole process and thought my weekly shop was sorted, only to then find out that the order has been cancelled the day off or a few hours before because apparently there was “no payment”.
There IS money in the bank
And this keeps happening meaning I go to amazon fresh for delivery within a few hours.
You simply can’t rely on Ocado for your weekly shop anymore. I'd like to think it's a lovely company, the choice on their website (expect frozen food which is completely unavailable most of the time) is really nice, being able to browse home wear and M&S clothes. Things are packed with care, substitutions are usually appropriate and the bags are so helpful m, drivers are usually polite enough but When they fail to take the order, Amazon Fresh usually has to come in and save the day, actually get the groceries I need, so I think I will switch supermarkets to begin save the stress if having to place a last min order .
I’ve even ended up having to make new accounts/email addresses because accounts that I have been paying for Smart Pass on have just "stopped working" which means keeping track of r receipts and long ins has become so difficult
It’s just becoming a complete inconvenience and a waste of time.
And that’s the biggest shame for me. I used to see Ocado as the better option and genuinely felt it was worth paying more for. Now I’m finding myself questioning why I’m still using it.
My family use to joke ocado is snobby, but now they laugh and say “Why do you inconvenience yourself with all that?”, I think that says quite a lot about how much the experience has changed.

Customer service is awful. They need to work on this as I absolutely had no desire to shop with them. I am disgusted.
Also lots of damaged items, Customer service was not able to fine my email on the system..BS...so they won't refund me. i will not recommend Ocado to anyone.

Every driver and delivery person has been exceptionally friendly and helpful. Today, our order was delayed through no fault of the company. An accident on the motorway had meant they were stuck in traffic. At 9.40 pm we got our shopping. The delivery driver was still smiling and happy to help. I can not fault the customer service given by ocado, they have kept us informed at all times today

Does anyone find Ocado awful. This is the 2nd time I placed an order.. Website showed products available..added to the basket..made payment..received confirmation email and text that it was all good for delivery...then on day of delivery I get the message below:
Dear ......
We’re very sorry, but due to an operational issue at one of our warehouses, we’re unable to deliver your Ocado order (order number: 1370715307184) due on 17 August 2026 at 8:30pm.
We know this is frustrating and we’re really sorry to have let you down. Of course, you won’t be charged for this order.
If you would like to re-book the same order, simply log in as normal and select ‘re-book’ to choose a new delivery slot.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerest apologies,
Ocado Customer Service Team
They are total rubbish..not deserving of 1 star but more like -1

1 Star – Terrible Customer Service and Unreasonable Charges
Once again, Ocado failed to deliver the bottled water items from my order, but they had no problem charging me the full £5 delivery fee. When I reached out to resolve the issue, their only solution was for me to place a brand-new order and pay another delivery fee out of my own pocket just to get the missing items. Expecting the customer to pay twice for their mistake is completely unreasonable and irresponsible. I won't be ordering from them ever again.

Bought some packs of 'Coca-Cola Original Taste'
Packs of mini cans arrived. Why can't you write 'mini' on the advert?
I just looked at that the title of the full size cans and they are also labelled as - 'Coca-Cola Original Taste'
Why label them both exactly the same?
I just looked at some examples of other 'mini' products that you sell.
Cadbury Mini Fingers Chocolate Biscuits Snack Packs
McVitie's Mini Gingerbread Men Biscuits Multipack
McVitie's Penguin & Friends Cocoa Mini Biscuits Multipack
Bahlsen Mini Choco Leibniz
Why do you write 'mini' in the title of everything else? As always I have to pay for your own incompetence.

I am abroad on holiday and now can’t access my account and arrange a delivery for my return home unless I change my password. I’ve no idea if this is some sort of scam or if Ocado has been hacked. It just came out of the blue. Very very very suspicious and frustrating when I have much better things to do!
Contacted customer service and asked… ‘is my information safe’… no answer!
So if I rely on Ocado we will have no bread, milk, vegetables, fruit and an empty fridge… unless I am willing to risk my financial information!
But one of their close competitors will deliver everything that we need!
Perhaps Ocado should give customers advance warning of password changes rather than block accounts out or the blue at a time of year when many are on holiday

After a decade of doing most of my grocery shopping with Ocado, I think I am finally done with them. My smart pass has expired and Im not renewing it.
The latest insult is the new review system. When you shop online you cannot pick up what youre buying, you cant see it, its size or quality. You have to rely on the often misleading pictures, and more importantly the reviews other shoppers have left about it.
Ocado used to be very good with this, honest reviews from other shoppers. I found some amazing products that Id never have tried though the reviews. I left great reviews of fantastic things, and let other shoppers know when Id been let down. Sometimes it was just not to my taste, sometimes the quality was inconsistent, sometimes it was just plain bad. I read peoples reviews and judged them for myself, if it said too sweet I didnt buy it because I dont like sweet things. If it said to salty that didnt bother me, because I like salty things.
But thats all gone now. No honestly allowed. If you post a good review, theyll post that. But anything negative, they wont post it now.
But now you cant trust the reviews, and cant trust Ocado. New products are now going months with no reviews - so bad products they wont allow customers to be honest about and are deliberately trying to foist off onto their customers.
Who pays the bills Ocado - your suppliers or your customers?

It is frustrating that Ocado will not deliver to my house. If I lived at the house .6 of a mile down the road they would deliver but not my postcode, literally 5 minutes walk away from where they are happy to deliver. It seems a bit thick to me. Every time I contact them they give me some old flannel that they will make a note of my interest, that's been going on for years.

For the past couple of years this company has gone down here gradually they’ve gone over recently last year to robotic packaging system which every week you either get products damaged missing every bag overloaded so you can’t pick them up so you end up unpacking them in your porch in the front door. The delivery guys bring the bags in a big plastic bin in carrier bags. They struggle to get the bags out of the bin and then you’re expected to lift them off the ground which you can’t the handles normally break and like tonight the guy apologise he said is the robot so I can’t think about it but they try their best but if you want a delivery service that you get your products damaged nearly every week or missing every week use this today I got toothpaste. I didn’t order the rolls I ordered all flattened in one bag it had 24 L of milk, eggs two boxes a large butter Cat food you just could not lift it. The guy took it out of his box put it on the ground and it all just fell out
The other bags are just as bad. I’m not gonna list it, but I have got a video of it
If you phone up the Online system first line of their support is tries to be helpful but they can’t do much the managers in that department that are useless. You ought to be put food to the other major team who are very good for sort things out but nine times to attend they don’t listen they say they don’t know who they are even though it’s on the system and don’t put you through that happen last week when you’re spending £150 a week of shopping you expect it to be correct I’m a disabled person. Blind in one eye can’t lift heavy objects because I’ve got leaking eye as well. It’s just a joke so tomorrow I have to go shopping to get bread it defeats the object of a delivery service.

I have had several deliveries from Ocado, and will say the food has always been lovely.
However, one delivery was spilt all over my drive when instead of putting my goods into the crate they are supposed to, they didn’t, and the bags split.
Just a simple mistake I thought!
Then, a driver turned up a couple of weeks ago, no crate bags in hand. He then went to put the bags with food in on the floor. He looked shocked when I told him not to as the bags had my food in. When he was leaving I asked if he’d like a bottle of water. His reply was ‘ If it’ll keep you happy’ RUDE!!
The same delivery saw raw chicken mixed in with fresh produce. Who does that!
I have complained and asked for my fresh produce to be kept separately from my fresh meat ( mainly raw chicken which we all know carries salmonella)
Today… the driver bought my goods already bagged in the crate then proceeded to take them out to place on the floor. When I told him not to, his reply was ‘ Where do you expect me to put it ‘
Try in the hand I was holding out.
To add insult to injury they had managed to squeeze two packets of raw chicken in with fresh fruit, coleslaw, fresh eggs and a cucumber.
I have rung to complain. I have made it clear I will not be eating the fresh produce that was bagged with the raw chicken.
It is not rocket science, and just in case someone can’t comprehend the simplicity of it, there are both packing and delivery instructions that they obviously don’t adhere to

Antwort von Ocado
There are items frequently out of stock. There are also missing items from orders with no substitutions. Ocado need to get their act together. If you offer delivery, make sure you have enough stock. If you have to substitute goods then don’t charge the extra for the substitution

Antwort von Ocado
Great selection, orders arrive on time, and there are seldom missing items, but Ocado fall at, literally, the last fence.
As friendly and obliging as the delivery people generally are, whoever is packing the bags needs to be trained/re-trained, as no care is being taken here. You find expensive perishable items upside down, on their sides, sometimes with broken seals. All avoidable. It would take no longer to pack a ready meal the right way up!
You're a high-end supermarket, Ocado, sort it out!

Antwort von Ocado
Imagine this, you order nearly £200 worth of food for your disabled mother, Ocado arrive deliver the items, then realise that £60 worth of food is missing, contact Ocado who do everything in their power to get the driver back to bring the missing items, here’s the fun part, the driver comes back, checks the van, gets back into the drivers seat and goes off on his merry way! No contact, no knock on the door just poof and he’s gone. To then receive an email saying he’s misdelivered £60 worth of food and you won’t be able to do anything but refund, leaving a disabled lady with ZERO fridge food, as we are heading away on holiday early hours. We spend HUNDREDS of pounds every week with you as a family of 4, plus whatever shop we need for my mother who is unable to get out of the house 99% of the time. And this is how you treat your customers - no offer of actually showing compassion for YOUR mistake and getting it on a van for tomorrow to ensure she can actually have some food. Absolutely disgraceful. We will be cancelling our subscription and going elsewhere too, as this is not how you treat people. Thanks for leaving us in this mess with absolutely no way to sort this immediately. Anyone reading these reviews I’d take them seriously and avoid.

Antwort von Ocado
Terrible experience this week, we used to have zero issues but recently we are getting plenty of damaged products, today's was raw chicken which then leaked all the raw chicken juice over everything else in the bag, I got the items refunded but had to clean the kitchen and will now have to go to the supermarket to replace the contaminated items. I went on chat support and they sent the refund straight away and offered £10 voucher then an extra £5. I pay nearly £10 a month for the convenience of delivery and today's issue will take me 2-3 hours to sort out with cleaning and having to travel to the shops. I'm a £5k a year Ocado customer and I am seriously now looking elsewhere for my shopping deliveries

Antwort von Ocado
Ocado's small order charge fee is nowhere to be seen while ordering. It is automatically added to your bill and only visible on the confirmation receipt email. Surely, this is against consumer protection legislation? It is only £2 so most people won't even notice it but I would rather give it to a charity than Ocado.
